The Dorm

This is my living space. I'm still unpacking at this point. My bed is the bottom one.

My desk. I couldn't forget my books!

Closet and clothes. Our living room and kitchen are kind of bare so I'm going to take pictures later. Today I didn't have much time because I had orientation (skipped out on most of that) then Mom and I went shopping forever and bought tons of stuff...food mostly. Then I bought my books. It was depressing to see so much money go towards something so lame. (yes, even though they are books, text books are lame.) Then I had to wait in longer-than-Disneyland lines in order to get my vehicle registration and bus pass. So, anyway I'm going to bed because I'm tired.

The Blue Yonder (yes, I've seen Jurassic Park)

Here, I am with less than 15 min left at home. 15 minutes of being a kid still. 15 minutes of actually belonging at home - when I come back I'll be a guest. As Tyler says, "Ew, sick, gross." Anyway, farewell to Boulder and family and I'll be updating with pictures when I get to school.

The Beach

Tyler and Ally having fun in the sun.

I told Ally to strike a model pose. She's pretty cute. :)

Poor Maddie got buried in the sand and then Tyler walked all over her. Luckily he decided to park his cars there instead, saving Maddie's vital organs from being crushed.

Disneyland!

Here are my pictures...finally. It took so long because Mom said I shouldn't put them on because it would make Allyson sad. Then Susan put way cooler pictures on, so why do I even have this blog? Okay, I'm done ranting. Actually, there aren't very many pictures because I forgot my camera most times. Enjoy anyways.

Julie's Eyebrows.

I know this is already on Loretta's blog but I just had to put this on here. Julie got her eyebrows waxed today. She's braver than I am, but just look at how beautiful she is.

College looms over the horizon...or the weekend...

So here's my room as I'm frantically packing for college. It would look better if I had the huge black trunk on my bed but I already moved it and I didn't want to put it back just for the picture.

this is my sad empty (sort of) closet.

Um...I have nothing interesting to say. So, here's an interesting picture. It looks like the circles revovle when you move your head closer to the screen.

Origami Days

So Allyson said I should put my origami that I made at work on here so she could see. There was a lot more but I gave a lot of them away. Enjoy!

These jumping frogs were the first. They provided much entertainment during the boring hours.

This school of fish was "swimming" across the back of the front desk counter. Quite cute I must say.

The final touch was the box I made to put all my creatures in. Also, I made flowers for my friends so here's an example of the beautiful paper lilies. Notice that all these creations were done in stunning shades of office paper. So now you know that if you're ever bored, I can show you some fun origami projects!

The Potter Years

I recently finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I finished it last week anyway, and it was such an amazing book that I've been thinking about it ever since. A lot of people think that the Harry Potter obsession is just that - an obsession. It's lasted too many long years and it causes people to run around the streets in robes, saying things like "wingardium leviosa!" and using words such as Muggle, Hogwarts, and crumple-horned snorkacks. However, in my perspective an era has been created that will always be special to me because I lived through it and was caught up in the magic.

What I'm trying to say is that with the seven book comes the close of a special decade - the Potter years. I was roughly Harry's age when the first book came out and I feel that as the characters matured and the books developed, so did I. I heard someone mention that they were glad that they waited to read the books until now so that she could read them one right after the other. However, I wouldn't have given up these years for anything! I loved the experiences of growing up with the characters, waiting in line anxiously for the next book, seeing Harry Potter books in the hands of the most unlikely people, buying all things Potter-related, and enjoying the magic created by J.K. Rowling for my generation and all the generations to come. Thanks J.K. Rowling for your creation, thanks to all you fellow Potter fans young and old, and to Harry, Ron, Hermione and all the fabulous and very believable characters of the books, thanks for a wonderful ride. Expecto Patronum!
